RECOMMENDED ACTION:
6 approving plans and specifications and
to advertise for bids.
Adopt Resolution No. authorizing the City
ITEM EXPLANATION:
City Council had allocated Community Block Grant Funds for streetscaping the Downtown Area.
Plans and specifications for State Street and Grand Avenue have been prepared to accomplish that streetscaping and are ready to advertise for bids.
The work will include sidewalk replacement, landscaping, construction of decorative water fountain, pedestrian crosswalks, street medians, curb and gutter replacement, and street furniture.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Engineer's Estimate for completion of this work is as follows:
Engineering Consultant $ 35,000
Staff Engineering 8,000 Construction 385,000
ESTIMATED TOTAL $440,000
Testing and Inspection 12,000
Funds available in the Community Development Block Grant Accounts
for this project total $343,577. Staff recommends that the
contract go out to bid to determine the exact price of the project
and necessary adjustments be made after the bid opening.

RESOLUTION NO. 7526
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR STATE & GRAND STREETSCAPE - PROJECT NO. 3715.
WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the furnishing of all labor, materials,
0015, equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary and incidental for
aid Project No. 3715 have been prepared and are on file in the Engineering
epartment of the City of Carlsbad and are incorporated by reference herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad as
01 lows:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. Plans and specifications as presented are hereby approved.
3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed
o proceed to publish, in accordance with law, Notice to Contractors inviting bids
or the construction of the State & Grand Streetscape in accordance with
nd specifications hereinabove referred to.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Counc
