MTQ 3/6/84
PEPT. MAYOR
TJILEj McCLELLAN-PALOMAR AIRPORT DEPT.
CITY MQR.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt resolution offering Council policy relative to McClellan-
Palomar- Airport.
BACKGROUND:
\
Recently there has been concern expressed in the press and in
public meetings that the Palomar Airport may be expanded. I
believe the City Council should take a position that the
airport remain a general aviation facility as stated in the
Carlsbad General Plan. As I understand it, the action would
have no legal effect on service expansion but would be a
restatement of long standing city's position which could be
used before the County and F.A.A.
The Mayor asked that this item be placed on agenda for
Council's consideration.
