RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Staff reconmends the Council adopt Reso 1 uti on No. 15 ':I 1 , awarding the bid for
uniform and laundry service to Mission Linen Supply.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The City of ·Carlsbad provides uniform and laundry service for approximately sixty
.employees. Each departmer+--includes this service in their oper.ating budget.
Jn accordance with Section 3.28.120 of the Municipal Code, Notice .to Bidders was
published a~d Request for Bids was made. Three responses were received, opened,
witness~d an~ recorded on February 17, 1984. The lowest bid for a thirty six month
contract, beginning July 1, 1984, was from Mission Linen Supply, 2737 Industry Street,
Oceansid~, CA 92054. The unit cost per change is as follows:
Pants $.38
Shirts $.32
FISCAL IMPACT:
Dur.ing ]983-84, approximately $11,080 will-be expended for uniform and laundry service.
There will be approximatelyan8% decrease in 1984-85, due to a decrease in both cost of .0
laundry ·and number of employees. The estimated total for FY 1984-85 of $10,193,will
b~ budgeted by the maintenance departments.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING
A BID AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
AN AGREEMENT FOR UNIFORM AND LAUNDRY
SERVICE.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. That the bid of Mission Linen Supply, 2737 Industry Street, Oceans·ide,
7 California 92054, is hereby accepted.
8 2. That the Mayor of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed
9 to execute an agreement, for uniform and laundry service for thirty six months,
10 beginning July 1, 1984, at a unit cost of $.38 for pants and $.32 for shirts.
PASSED APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
12 Califcrnia at a regular meeting held ·on the 3rd day of Apdl , 1984, by
