Introduce Ordinance No.3/4~ to revise the speed limit on Palomar
Airport Road from Carlsoaalrlvd. to Paseo Del Norte to 45 miles p~r
hour.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
At the March 26, 1984 meeting of the Traffic Safety Coordinating
Committee, Staff presented a recommendation for posting Speed Limit
Signs on Palomar Airport Road. Speed studies were performed and
submitted with the recommendation to the Committee to revise the
speed limit in the area. The Traffic Safety Coordinating Committee
adopted those recommendations.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Speed Limit signs cost $85.00 per sign, plus labor. A total of two
Speed Limit signs will be posted. Cost of enforcement of these
speed limits is not considered significant.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.44
MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE ADDITION OF SECTION 10.44.170
TO REVISE THE SPEED LIMIT ON PALOMAR AIRPORT ROAD BETWEEN
CARLSBAD BLVD. AND PASEO DEL NORTE.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as
follows:
SECTION 1. That Title 10, Chapter 10.44 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is
amended by the addition of Section 10.44.170 to read as follows:
11 10.44.170 Palomar Airport Road. (a) Upon Palomar Airport Road from
10 Carlsbad Blvd. to its intersection with Paseo Del Norte, the prima facie
speed limit shall be forty-five miles per hour.

EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty days after its
adoption, and the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and
cause it to be published at least once in the Carlsbad Journal within fifteen
days after its adoption.
