Introduce Ordinance No.3_1_7j~to revise the speed limit on Paseo Del
Norte from Cannon Road toPalomar Airport Road to 35 miles per
hour.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
At the March 26, 1984 meeting of the Traffic Safety Coordinating
Committee, Staff presented a recommendation for posting Speed Limit
Signs on Paseo Del Norte. Speed studies were performed and
submitted with the recommendation to the Committee to revise the
speed limit in the area. The Traffic Safety Coordinating Committee
adopted those recommendations.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Speed Limit signs cost $85.00 per sign, plus labor. A total of four
Speed Limit signs will be posted. Cost of enforcement of these
speed limits is not considered significant •

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.44
MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE ADDITION OF SECTION 10.44.llOb
TO REVISE THE SPEED LIMIT ON PASEO DEL NORTE BETWEEN
CANNON ROAD AND PALOMAR AIRPORT ROAD.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as
follows:
SECTION 1. That Title 10, Chapter 10.44 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is
amended by the addition of Section 10.44.llOb to read as follows:
"10.44.llOb Paseo Del Norte. (b} Upon Paseo Del Norte from Cannon Road ·co
10 its intersection with Palomar ATrport Road, the prima facie speed limit shall be
thirty-five miles per hour.

EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty days after its
adoption, and the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinanc~ and
cause it to be published at least once in the Carlsbad Journal within fifteen
days after its adoption.
