RECOMMENDED ACTION: I
Adopt Resolution No. approving plans and specifications, and
authorizing the City to advertise for bids.
ITEM EXPLANATION
On March 4, 1984, the City Council amended the Capital Improvement
Program and appropriated funds for several projects, including the
as being high priority and Council directed staff to proceed with the projects.

These flashing yellow warning signals will be placed on Carlsbad
Boulevard in advance of the crosswalk at the Army-Navy Academy.
The plans and specifications for this work have been completed and
are on file in the Engineering Department.

On March 4, 1984, the City Council appropriated $17,000 for this
project. Staff recommends waiting for the Bid Opening to determine
if any additional appropriations will be needed.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR ARMY-NAVY ACADEMY CROSSING SIGNALS - CONTRACT NO. 3109.
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for the furnishing of all labor,
iaterials, tools, equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary and
ncidental for said Contract No. 3109 have been prepared and are on file in the
3gineering Department of the City of Carlsbad and are incorporated by reference
ierein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad a

2. The plans and specifications as presented are hereby approved.
3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directel
