RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Staff recommends that Council adopt Resolution No. 7611 , accepting bids and
awarding Contract No. U/M-1 for curb, gutter and sidewalk replacements to Oliver
Matthews Construction Company, 223 North 49th St., San Diego, CA 92102, in the
amount of $38,748.40.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On April 10, 1984, the City Council approved plans and specifications and
authorized the City Clerk to advertise for bids for curb, gutter and sidewalk
replacements.
Six responses were received, opened, witnessed and recorded on May 10, 1984.
The bids were reviewed by the staff of the Utilities/Maintenance and Purchasing
Departments.
Construction Company, in the amount of $38,748.40.
The lowest responsive bid was submitted by Oliver Matthews
The Engineer's estimate on the project was $48,000.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND
FOR CURB, GUTTER AND SIDEWALK REPLACEMENTS.
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACT U/M-1
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, as follows:
1. That the bid from Oliver Matthews Construction Company, 223 North 49th
St., San Diego, CA 92102, is hereby accepted and the Mayor and the City Clerk
are hereby authorized to execute a contract for curb, gutter and sidewalk
replacement in the amount of $38,748.40.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, at
ad ‘Ourned a /regu?ar meeting held the 22nd day of MY , 1984, by the
following vote, to wit:
