RECOMMENDED ACTION:
That Council authorize City Manager to take action necessary to straighten out Paseo del Norte between Palomar Airport Road and Car Country.
BACKGROUND:
Pea Soup Anderson addition is nearly complete. The contractor is bonded to
build a full street on Paseo del Norte along existing alignment. City staff initiated meetings with land owners to eliminare the curve in the road. All parties now concur that the street be straightened. Inorder to accomplish this change it will be necessary to take the following actions:
1) Secure deed for realignment from Paul Ecke
2) Vacate existing right of way
3) Secure Coastal Commission approval
4)
5) Build the road
Extend the bonded agreement with the contractor
It is believed these steps can be accomplished in six months.
