RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 6S.3 accepting bids and awarding
Contract No. Academy Crossing Signals to MACO Services.

ITEM EXPLANATION:
On May 15, 1984, Council authorized the advertisement for bids for the Army-Navy Academy Crossing Signals. Five sealed bids were recieved on June 20, 1984, as follows:
1. MACO Services
2. Steiny & Co.
3. L. E. Myers
4. McCain Construction
5. D & H Perry

The Engineer's Estimate on this project was $17,000. References have been verified on the low bidder, MACO
Services. Staff recommends the award of this contract to MACO Services.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, - CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACT NO. 3109 FOR THE ARMY-NAVY ACADEMY CROSSING S I GNALS .

WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad for the Army-Navy
,cademy Crossing Signals, Contract No. 3109; and
WHEREAS, the low bid received for the Army-Navy Academy Crossing Signals
'as submitted by MACO Services, in the amount of $15,752; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the Traffic Safety Projects Account No.
10-18-40-3109 for this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad

.. 1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. The bid of $15,752 by MACO Services for Contract No. 3109 for the
