Adopt Resolution No. 7&a , appointing a member to the Personnel
Board.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The term of Personnel Board Member Donald Watkins expired in June,
1984. Mr. Watkins has served on the Board since 1976, and has
indicated his desire not to be reappointed.
Other members currently serving on the Personnel Board are as
follows: David Bates, Camille Mitkevich, Donald Van Riesen, and
Donald Veale.
Copies of applications received in 1984 are attached for Council
review.

RESOLUTION NO. 7656
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD PERSONTJEL BOARD.
WHEREAS, the term of Donald Watkins expired in June, 1984;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the following.person is hereby appointed to serve
as a member of the Carlsbad Personnel Board:
Father Aaron Driver , for a term to expire in June, 1988.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
Carlsbad City Council held on the 7th day of Auqust I
1984, by the following vote, to wit:

Enlisted as a Prfvate in the Marine Corps and advanced to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Have directed Maintenance Battalions , and with improved supervisory controls signif icantly decreased the overall cost of nraintenance. Organized a Service Regiment respon- sible.for providing major items of equipment, suppltes, maintenance and spare parts for an entire newly form-

Officiated at grievances meetings between labor and management, Directed the Public Relations Office, 3rd Marine Division, Vietnam, from 1967-68, with responsibilities for news releases, N interviews, asststing civilian news reporters and visiting dignitaries. Assigned to the U.S. State Departanent for 2 years wfth Headquarters in Egypt. Have traveled extensively in Asia, Middle East, Africa and Europe.
