TITLE ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE IN THE RESEARCH/ANALYSIS GROUP

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 76 8d, reclassifying the Planning Assistant
position to Administrative Assistant 11.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The nature of the work in Research/Analysis Group is to perform responsible, professional , technical and administrative work in an independent manner and produce a usable product. cumulative knowledge of the team, but is also responsible to produce in an independent and prompt manner. It is the goal of Research/Analysis Group to broaden the current base of knowledge beyond the high level of land use planning and management resources now available. This recommended reclassification will open up possibilities in budgeting, organizational development and analysis which are currently limited. In reviewing the various administrative cate- gories, the Administrative Assistant I1 classification best fits not only the above described goals, but also is appropriate in terms of salary range.
Each member of the organization utilizes the
FISCAL IMPACT:
The proposed reclassification would require an additional $1,685.00 per annum, or $64.00 bi-weekly.

RESOLUTION NO. 7685
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION PLAN OF THE CITY TO CHANGE THE CLASSIFICATION OF ASSISTANT PLANNER TO ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT I1
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends and the City Council concurs, that
the classification of Assistant Planner in the Research/Analysis Group should
be changed to Administrative Assistant I1 as it is included in the City's
C1 assi ficati on P1 an;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad
as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council authorizes and directs the City Manager to
reclassify Research/Analysis Group's Assistant Planner to Administrative
Assistant 11.
adjourned PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at ahegular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad held the 24th day of July, 1984, by the following vote,
to wit:
