RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Services for School Crossing Guard Service.
Adopt Resolution No. 7715- , amending agreement with Western Temporary
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On July 25, 1983, the City of Carlsbad and Western Temporary Services entered
year. The amount of the contract was $9,828. Under the City's agreement, the
into an agreement for School Crossing Guard Service during the 1983-84 school
contract can be renewed for one year periods.
Western Temporary Services has requested their weekly rate be increased from
$252.00 to $302.25. The increase is due to the rise in Workers' Compensation
and FICA costs and a salary raise for the crossing guards. Based on a 39 week
Department is satisfied with the service and recommends continuance of the
school year, the contract price will be $11,787.75. Staff of the Police
contract.
FISCAL IWACT:
Funds are available in the Police Department's Professional Services Account
(01-21-20-2470) to cover the cost of the contract.

RESOLUTION NO. 7715
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CLTY OF CARLSRAD,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE AGREEMENT WITH KSTEN
TEWORARY SERVICES FOR SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the City has contracted with Western Temporary Services for school
crossing guard service; and
WHEREAS, said agreement provides that charges for said services should
include a weekly rate of $252.00; and
WHEREAS, after negotiations, the parties to said contract have agreed that
said rate should be increased to $302.25 effective September 1983;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
as follows:
1. That Section 2.b. of said agreement shall be deleted in its entirity.

agreement in the munt of $302.25 per week, for the 39 weeks of the school
year. In the event the school year is shortened or lengthened, the compensation
shall be prorated accordingly.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council on
the 21st day of August , 1984, by the following vote, to wit:
