RECOMMENDED ACTION:
City Council adopt Resolution No. 7721 naming the Village Foun
and dedicating it to Glenn McColras.
ITEM EXPLANATION
The Downtown Streetscape Project is scheduled to be completed t
week of August 20, 1984. A dedication ceremony is being planne
for September 29, 1984. The Village Fountain is the focal poin
this project that included sidewalks, landscaping, crosswalks a
street furniture. It has been suggested that the fountain, loc
at the north west corner of State and Grand be named as follows
The Village Fountain dedicated to Glenn McComas
for his years of service to the Community,
This proposal has been reviewed and approved by the Carlsbad Ck.
of Commerce and the Village Merchant's Association. 1.f approve a plaque bearing the above inscription or sirvilar wording will
placed on the fountain at the dedication ceremony.
FISCAL IMPACT
Estimated cost of bronze plaque is approximately $375. Funds
available in streetscape account.
