Direct staff to notify LAFCO that the City does not oppose including Green Valley in the LCWD sphere of influence.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
LCWD and Hunt Properties, Inc. have entered into an agreement regarding the proposed annexation of approximately 170 acres of Hunt property to LCWD for
the purpose of receiving sewer service. The agreement
provides that if LCWD is unable to provide sewer service
Hunt properties could detach from LCWD and receive service from Carlsbad. LCWD would lease sewer transmission capacity to Carlsbad to serve the Hunt
properties. An agreement between the City and LCWD
is being consummated and will be brought for Council
approval when finalized.
The City is on record with LAFCO objecting to
inclusion of Green Valley in the LCWD. In light of
the above agreements there is no longer a need to
object to the revision of the LCWD sphere of influence.
It is recommended that staff be notified that Carlsbad has no objection to revision of LCWD sphere of influence.
