RECOMMENDED ACTION!
City Council adopt Resolution No. 7f/& accepting bids and awardi Contract No. 002-84 to replace the heating/cooling system in the C Hall Complex to San Marcos Sheet Metal and Mechanical Inc., and to further approve the transfer of an additional $40,000 from the
Contingency Fund to the Capital Outlay Account in Building Maint- enance to pay for Project #002-84,
ITEM EXPLANATION
On September 20, the Parks and Recreation Department requested bi for the replacement of the heating/air-conditioning system in City Hall. Three (3) bids have been returned and staff has selected th lowest bid of $119,750. This was submitted by San Marcos Sheet- Metal and Mechanical. Staff has checked the company’s references and is satisfied that they are qualified to complete the work.
An additional $20,000 beyond the contract amount is being requeste to cover the costs of any modifications in the existing ducting an piping systems.
FISCAL IMPACT
The City Council has already appropriated $100,000 for this expend ture. An additional $40,000 is being requested from the Contingem
Fund. The revenue will be transferred from the Contingency Fund to the Captial Outlay account in Building Maintenance. After the transfer is made, the balance of the Contingency Fund will be $783,248.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND
FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE HEATING/COOLING AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACT NO. 002-84
SYSTEM IN THE CITY HALL COMPLEX
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California,
as follows:
1. That the bid from San Marcos Sheet Metal and Mechanical, Inc.,
410 Cribbage Lane, San Marcos, California, 92069, is hereby accepted and
the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a contract
for the replacement of the heating/cooling system in City Hall in the
amount of $119,750.
2. That the City Council approve the transfer of $40,000 from
the Contingency Fund to the Capital Outlay account in Building Maintenance,
01-5310-3900. This fund transfer is on file in the Finance Department.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad at a regular meeting held the 13th day of mvmber 9
1984, by the following vote, to wit:

CONTRACT #002-84 HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM IN CITY HALL
Addendum f2
The following items are to be included in the contract for the
system in the City Hall Complex:
removal and installation of the heating and air conditioning
1. Contract #002-84 will commence on December 15, 1984
and must be completed by May 15, 1985.
Notification must be given by the Contractor 3 days in
advance prior to doing any work in the computer room, and
the work must be done only on week ends.
