The City Council on November 6, 1984, adopted Resolution No.
7791, a resolution of intention to vacate a portion of Pine
Avenue between Lincoln Avenue and the AT&SF Railroad. The
City Council set November 20, 1984, at the hour of 6 P.M.
as the time and the City Council Chambers, 1200 Elm Avenue,
as the place for a public hearing for all persons interested
in or objecting to said proposed vacation. The utility
companies were not if ied.
Staff has reviewed the request and concluded that the excess
street right-of-way is not needed for the ultimate street
widening. Pine Avenue is a collector street with a requir'ed
right-of-way width of 60 feet. The City currently has 80
feet of right-of-way on the above street. A similar
vacation on the south side of the street was granted by the
City on February 7, 1984.
Staff recommends that this vacation be conditioned to
specify that the entire area being vacated remain an
easement for utility purposes. The resolution so
specifies.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this vacation will result in approximately 3100
square feet of land to be returned to the tax rolls.
