TITLE:
PROJECT NO. 3169 CITY
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 7&?Jt$ approving plans and specifications,
and authorizing the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the
construction of the Carlsbad Boulevard Storm Drain.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The plans and specifications for Carlsbad Boulevard Storm Drain
have been completed. This project is the first element of a
storm drain system that will eliminate the existing drains
penetrating the bluffs on the west side of Carlsbad Boulevard and
involves installing inlets, manholes and storm drains in Carlsbad
Boulevard from Tamarack Avenue to the Agua Hedionda Bridge. The
Engineering Department has reviewed the plans and specifications.
Work is scheduled to be complete prior to reconstruction of the
Carlsbad Boulevard Bridge over the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Inlet.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Engineer’s Estimate for this project is $143,000. Funds in
the amount of $380,000 are available in Account.No. 330-1830-3169
as approved by the City Council as a part of the 1984-85 C.I.P.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK
TO INVITE BIDS FOR THE CARLSBAD BOULEVARD
STORM DRAIN - CONTRACT NO. 3169.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has
determined it is necessary and in the public interest to
construct the Carlsbad Boulevard Storm Drain; and
WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the furnishing of all
labor, material, tools, equipment, transportation, and other
expenses necessary or incidental for said project, Contract No.
3169, have been prepared and are on file in the Engineering
.Department of the City of Carlsbad and are incorporated’ by
reference herein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. The plans and specifications as presented are hereby
approved.
3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby
authorized and directed to proceed to publish, in accordance with
law, Notice to Contractors inviting bids for the construction of
the Carlsbad Boulevard Storm Drain in
specifications hereinabove referred to.
