Adopt Resolution No. 783 '1
ITEM EXPLANATION
awarding the bid for office furniture.
The 1984-85 Budget includes $14,854 for the purchase of office furniture for
various departments. The bid package included desks, chairs, filing cabinets
and a bookcase.
In accordance with S~ction 3.28.120 of the Municipal Code, Notice to Bidders was
published and Request for Bids was made. Five responses were received, opened,
witnessed and recorded on November 7, 1984.
The lowest bid on 4 items was O'Heill Envirocorp, 5152 Avenida Encinas,
Carlsbad, CA 92008 in the amount of $1,293.44 plus tax for a total of
$1,371.05. San Diego Office Supply, 7946 Clalreff~nt Mesa Blvd., San Diego, CA
92111 was low bidder for 4 items in the amount of $1,52Q,80 plus tax for a total
of $1,612.05. Southwest Business Interiors, P.O. Box 82478, San Diego, CA 92138
was low bidder on 6 items in the amount of $5,855.00 plus tax for a total of
$6,206.30. Kerrigan Discount Office Furniture, 1320 5th Avenue, San Diego, CA
92101 Wds low bidder on 2 items in the amount of $599.85 plus tax for a total of
$635.85, and Arenson Office Furniture, 1159 India Street, San Diego, CA 92101
was low bid on 3 items in the amount of $3,525.00 plus tax for a total of
$3,736.50.
FISCAL IMPACT
The total cost for the office furniture was $13,561.75 which is well within the
budgeted amounts.

OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACC£PTit-t; BIDS AND
AUTHORIZit-«; THE EXECUTION <F CONTRACTS FOR
THE PURCHASE OF OFFICE FURNITURE.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California as
follows:
1. That the bid of O'Neill Envirocorp, 5125 Avenida Encinas, Carlsbad,
7 California 92008, for Items 8, 9, 11, 12 as shown in Exhibit A, ls hereby
8 accepted and the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract for the
9 purchase of office furnlt~~e in the amount of $1,293.44 plus tax, for a total of
10 $1,371.05.
11 2. That the bid of San Diego Office Supply, 7946 Clairemont Mesa Blvd.,
12 San Diego, California 92111, for Items 2, 6, 15, 16 as shown in Exhibit A, is
13 hereby accepted and the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a cqntract
14 for the purchase of office furniture in the amount of $1,520.80 plus tax, for a
15 total of $1,612.05.
16 3. That the bid of Southwest Business Interiors, P.O. Box 82478, San
.17 Diego, California 92138, for Items 1, 5, 10, 13, 14 and 19 as shown in Exhibit
18 A, ls hereby accepted and the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a
19 contract for the purchase of office furniture in the iW<>Unt of $5,855.00 plus
20 tax, for a total of $6,206.30.
21. 4. That the bid of Kerrigan Discount Of flce Furn! ture, 1320 5th Avenue,
22 San Diego, California 92101, for Items 17 and 18 as shown in Exhibit A, is
23 hereby accepted and the City Manager ls hereby authorized to execute a contract
24 for the purchase of office furnl ture in the amount of $599.85 plus tax, for a

is hereby accepted and the City Manager ls hereby authorized to execute a

tax, for a total of $3,736.50.
