NO PARKING ORDINANCE FOR ALGA ROAD

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Introduce Ordinance No. amending the City Municipal Code to
designate no parking on Alga Road as follows:
North Side: From Mimosa Drive to Melrose Drive
South Side: From Mimosa Drive to El Camino Real
From Alicante Road to Melrose Drive
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On July 22, 1983, the Sandag Board of Directors approved Resolution No. 83-
4, allocating $10,500, to install bike lanes on both sides of Alga Road
from El Camino Real to El Fuerte Street. Staff has been waiting until the
widening of Alga Road has been completed before installing the bike lanes.
Eliminating parking on Alga Road is necessary to install the bike lanes.
The street is not configured to provide parking as all parking in this area
is to be off street except on the south side of Alga Road from El Camino
Real to Alicante Road. There will be a twelve foot parking and bike lane
in this area.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are available in Account No. 330-941 for this work.

ORDINANCE NO. 3180
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY Of CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA,
AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.40 OF THE CARLSBAD
MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE AMENDMENT OF SECTION 10.40.058
NORTH SIDE FROM MIMOSA DRIVE TO MELROSE DRIVE; AND
SOUTH SIDE FROM MIMOSA DRIVE TO EL CAMINO REAL AND
FROM ALICANTE ROAD TO MELROSE DRIVE.
TO DECLARE A "NO-PARKING" ZONE ON ALGA ROAD AS FOLLOW
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California hereby ordains as
follows :
SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.40 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code
is amended by the amendment of Section 10.40.058 to read as follows:
"10.40.058 Parking Restricted on Alga Road to declare a 'No Parking'
zone on Alga Road as follows: North side from Mimosa Drive to Melrose
Drive; and South side from Mimosa Drive to El Camino Real and from Alicante
Road to Melrose Drive.''
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty days after
its adoption and the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
ordinance and cause it to be published once in the Carlsbad Journal within
fifteen days of its adoption.
INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of the City Council held
the 4th day of Dee , 1984, and thereafter -
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council held the
11th - day of Decenber , 1984, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council M%bers Casler, Lewis, Kulchh, Chick and Pettine
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
