Adopt Resolution No. 7f'f7 approving an extension of
the office space lease at 2945 Harding Street.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The City leases 1,000 sq. ft. of office space at 2945 Harding
Street to provide office space for the Research and Analysis
Group (RAG). The current lease expires on December 31, 1984.
It is recommended that the lease be extended for one year. The current rent is $852 per month. The new rent will be
$900 per month.
The city originally only intended to rent office space for
the RAG until additional modular office space was added at
City Hall. A portion of the modular office space was
designated for RAG. There is a critical need for additional
office space at City Hall to provide adequate space for
existing staff and provide some room for expansion. Therefore
it is recommended that RAG remain in leased space at Harding
Street and that the space in the modular unit designated for
RAG be used to accommodate the office space needs of other
City Hall departments. The Engineering Department will use
most of the space designated for RAG in the modular office
units.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The annual lease cost of office space at 2945 Harding Street
will be $10,800. Funds are available in the RAG budget to
pay the lease payments for the balance of 1984-85 fiscal year.

A RESOLUTION OFTHE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING
A LEASE FOR OFFICE SPACE AT 2945 HARDING ST.
WHEREAS, the City requires office space to house city
departments and,
WHEREAS, the City currently leases office space at
2945 Harding Street, Carlsbad, California and,
WHEREAS, the City desires to extend the lease at -_
2945 Harding Street until December 31, 1985:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the office space lease attached hereto as
Exhibit A is hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed
to sign the lease on behalf of the City.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
1 City Council of the City of Carlsbad held on the 18th day
of December , 1984, by the following vote, to wit:

ADDENDUM
To be attached and made a part of the lease dated January 17, 1984.
Executed by Balboa Construction Co., Inc. as Lessor, and the City
of Carlsbad as Lessee, for premises located at 2945 Harding Street,
Suite 207, Carlsbad, CA 92008. This Lease is hereby renewed. The
term of this Lease shall be for one (1) year, commencing on January 1,
1985, and ending on December 31, 1985.

Tenant agrees to pay to Landlord at such place as Landlqrd may des-
ignate, without deduction, offset, prior notice or demand and Land-
lord agrees to accept, as rent for the Leased Premises, the total sum
of TEN THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND N0/100 Dollars ($10,800.00) lawful
money of the United States, payable in monthly installments of NINE
HUNDRED AND N0/100 Dollars ($900.00), payable in advance on the first
day of each and every month during the term of this Lease.
All other terms and conditions will remain the same.
