REQUEST TO INCREASE COMPENSATION
FOR PLANNING COMMISSIONERS i1~~.12/18/SI
IEPT. CM
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
DEPT. HD.
CITY Am vfm
CITY MOR.&
Adopt Resolution No. yrfi increasing compensation of
Planning Commission Members to $100/month.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Mayor Casler asked that this item be placed on the agenda
for Council consideration.
Planning Commission members receive $30 per meeting, not to
exceed $60 per month. Compensation for Commission Members was last changed on May 19, 1981.
A review of the Planning Commission minutes and agendas
indicates how much time members are devoting to their work.
It is doubtful that the work load will diminish in the
future. In addition, Commissioners are constantly seeking
improvements in city ordinances and policies as they see the
need. It is recommended that the compensation for Commissioners
be increased to $100 per month.
FISCAL, IMPACT:
The increase in compensation will cost an additional
$1,680 per year. Funds can be transferred from existing
appropriation to cover the cost for the balance of this
fiscal year.
