RECOMMENDED ACTION:
TITLE: NO PARKING ORDINANCE FOR
TAMARACK AVENUE FROM
SKYLINE ROAD TO ELM AVENUE
Introduce Ordinance No. 31 8% amending the City Municipal
Code to desiqnate no parking on both sides of Tamarack Avenue
from Skyline-Road to Elm Avenue.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Tamarack Avenue is now a through street from Carlsbad Boulevard,
at the ocean, to Elm Avenue in Calavera Hills. For the most
part, it is capable of accommodating a bike lane, parked cars or
both. But in the newer section from Skyline Road to Elm Avenue
there is no need for parking because no properties front on
Tamarack Avenue. The street is configured for bike lanes
without vehicular parking. An occasional parked car would be a
serious hazard.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This project will have a minimal impact because the City would
post no parking signs only at problem areas. No problem areas
are anticipated.

SECTION 1: That Title IO, Chapter 10.40 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code
is amended by the amendment of Section 10.40.059 to read as follows:
1110.40.059 Parking Restricted on Tamarack Avenue. There will be no
parking on both sides of Tamarack Avenue from Skyline Road to Elm Avenue."
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty days after its
adoption and the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance
and cause it to be published once in the Carlsbad Journal within fifteen
days of its adoption.
INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of the City Council held

MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE AMENDMENT OF SECTION 10.40.059

- AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.40 OF THE CARLSBAD
TO DECLARE A "NO-PARKING" ZONE ON BOTH SIDES OF
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California hereby ordains as
1611 the 15th day of January , 1985, and thereafter,
