RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No approving plans and specifications
and authorizing City Clerk to advertise for bids.
[TEM EXPLANATION:
Phase I of the Carlsbad Safety and Service Center has an
approved budget of $9.4 million. The architect for this
project has provided plans and specifications for the
erection of structural steel on the construction site. The
Construction Manager has prepared the bid package required
at this time to go out for bid on the required types of steel
The bid packages are as follows:

2B Metal Deck
2C Combination - Total

FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are currently appropriated in account 330-820-1810-3006.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
EIR, EIA, and CUP have been approved along with the improvement
and grading plans for the site.

RESOLUTION NO. 7918
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA APPROVING THE PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE STRUCTURAL STEEL AND METAL
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad has been authorized by a vote
of the people to construct a $15.3 million dollar Safety and
Service Center and;
WHEREAS, the City Council has approved funds in the Fiscal
Year 1984-85 budget for the construction of Phase 1 of this
project and;
WHEREAS, the Construction Manager (ROLL CONSTRUCTION)
along with the Architect (RUHNAU, McGAVIN, and RUHNAU) have
developed the plans, specifications and estimates;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad as follows :
1. The plans, specifications and estimates for the
structural steel for the construction of the Carlsbad Safety
and Service Center are approved.
2. The City Clerk is directed to make appropriate
advertisement for such work.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
City Council held on the 19th day of February , 1985,
by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Casler, Lewis, Kulchin, Chick and Pettine
NOES : None
