RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 7934 approving plans and specifications and authorizing
the City Clerk to advertise for bids.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Plans and specifications have been completed and are on file in the Utilities
and Maintenance Department. Construction is anticipated to take place during
April - June, 1985, and should take about two months to complete.
The work is designed to reconstruct various alleys in the Downtown Area.
Two of the original fourteen alleys will not be reconstructed at this time.
One (#2) will be done after completion of the water line installation by
Costa Real Municipal Water District and the other (#lo) does not warrant
reconstruction at this time.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The fiscal impact is approximately $173,000 according to the design engineer's
estimate. Funds are available in Account No. 001-840-5110-2410 in the amount
of $186,000.

RESOLUTION NO. 7934
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR RECONSTRUCTION OF
VARIOUS ALLEYS IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for the furnishings of all labor,
material, tools, equipment transportation and other expenses necessary and
incidental for Contract No. U/M-4 have been prepared and are on file in
the Utilities & Maintenance Department of the City of Carlsbad and are
incorporated by reference herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad as follows:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.

The plans and specifications as presented are hereby approved.
The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and
directed to proceed to publish, in accordance vith law, Notice Inviting Bids for the construction of said contract
in accordance with said plans and specifications.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council
held on the 19 day of March , 1985, by the following vote, to wit:
