Work includes the main structural framing for the police building and the metal decking for the second and roof levels with the second floor to receive a concrete fill slab by another contractor. Work also includes the roof framing for the vehicle maintenance building. Numerous firms specializing in this activity were contacted by your Construc- tion Manager with a pre-bid conference being held on March 13, 1985, and bids received on March 21, 1985. We have analyzed the low bids and finding no major irregularities recommend that an award for bid package 2A-1 Structural Steel be made to Tulsa Steel Manufacturing Company, Inc. for the amount of $444,047.00, and that bid item 2B Metal Decking be awarded to Bannister Steel, Inc. in the amount of $102,293.00, We feel these awards represent a fair and reasonable price for the work intended. We understand that an agenda bill will be prepared for City Council approval of this award on April 2, 1985. Please let me know if additional information is required or if there are any problems with this recommendation. Sincerely, KOLL CONSJC*UCTIOfa/COMPANY William'D.
