CENTRAL BUSINESS STORM DRAIN
CONSULTANT AGREEMENT
(CONTRACT NO. 3085) CITY MGR..Z%L
Adopt Resolution No. 7969 approving an agreement with Fraser
& Associates for contract management and inspection services on
the Central Business Storm Drain, Contract No. 3085.
ITEM EXPLANATION
Construction of the Central Business Storm Drain has begun. Due
to the large number of existing utilities, several conflicts with
the storm drain have arisen. This necessitates close supervision
and some redesign work. The City's staff contract manager is
currently expending two-thirds of his time and the inspector one-
half of his time on this one project. The redesign work will
require additional drafting time as well, In order for staff
time to be freed up to work on the many other projects pending,
it is recommended that Fraser & Associates take over the contract
management - which includes any needed redesign work - and
inspection.
FISCAL IMPACT
This agreement will cost $35,000.00 for the anticipated three
months of work. Of this amount, $20,000.00 will be used for
contract management and redesign work and $15,000.00 for
inspection. There are currently sufficient funds in the Central
Business Storm Drain Account No. 330-820-18-30-3085 to cover that
amount.
