RECOMMENDED ACTION:
City Council adopt Resolution No. 778 1 approving the application for
grant funds from the Roberti Z' Berg Urban Open-Space and Recreation
Program for improvements at La Costa Canyon Park.
ITEM EXPLANATION
The Parks and Recreation Department would like to apply for funding from
the Roberti Z' Berg Block Grant in the amount of $19,993. The criteria
includes a 25% match by the City. This equals $6,664.
This is a "block grant" which means that the revenue is available to
cities on a per capita basis to agencies in urbanized areas.
Several potential projects in order of priority are:
1. Improvement of upper level at La Costa Canyon Park, i+,
landscaping, irrigation, improved picnic area, asphalt, path
ways.
2. Development costs for Calavera Hills Park - Phase I.
3. Development costs for Stagecoach Park.
Staff is recommending the La Costa Canyon Park project.
PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION
At their meeting on March 18, the Parks and Recreation Commission
unanimously approved the selection of the La Costa Canyon Park for
grant funding.
