RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Staff recommends that Council adopt Resolution No. , accepting a bid
and awarding a contract to Palomar Grading and Paving, Inc., 2150 North Centre
City Parkway, Escondido, CA 92025 in the amount of $173,466.55.
ITEM EXPLANATION
On March 19, 1985, the City Council approved plans and specifications and
authorized the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the reconstruction of twelve
alleys in the Downtown Area.
Five responses were received, opened and witnessed and recorded on April 9,
1985. The bids were reviewed by the staff of the Utilities/Maintenance and
Purchasing Departments. Palomar Grading and Paving, Inc., was the lowest
responsive bidder in the amount of $173,466.55.

FISCAL IMPACT
The Engineer's estimate is $173,000 and funds are available in Account No. 001-
840-5110-2410 in the amount of $186,000 to cover the cost of the contract.

RESOLUTION NO. 8005
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A BID AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, as follows:
1. That the bid of Palomar Grading and Paving, Inc., 2150 North Centre
OF CONTRACT U/M-4 FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF VARIOUS ALLEYS
City Parkway, Escondido, CA 92025 is hereby accepted and the Mayor is hereby
authorized to execute a contract for the reconstruction of various alleys in the
downtown area in the amount of $173,466.55.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, at
a regular meeting held the 7th day of May , 1985, by the
following vote, to wit:
