RECOMMENDED ACTION:
That Council authorize car allowance of $250/month for
City Engineer and authorize reimbursement of moving
expenses not to exceed $2,000.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
City Manager has interviewed candidates for City Engineer and wishes to appoint Mr. Donald E. "Gene" Donovan.
Mr. Donovan is prepared to begin work immediately. He
has requested a $250 monthly car allowance and reimbursement
of moving expenses from his home in Corona, California.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Current car allowance for City Engineer is $145 monthly
or $1,740 yearly. The increase to $250would cost an
additional$1,260 annually. Reimbursement for moving
expenses would be limited to $2,000 out of pocket cost.
