CARLSBAD BOULEVARD BRIDGE
AND STREET IMPROVEMENTS
PROJECT NO. 3098
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 81 1 4 accepting bids and awarding Contract No. 3098
for (Phase I) construction of Carlsbad Boulevard Bridge and street
improvements to Daley Corporation
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On 2, 1984, Council authorized the advertisement for bids for (Phase
I) construction. Three (3) sealed bids were received on June 18, 1985 as
follows:
October
.I. Daley Corporation $ 2,393,652.00
2. NAVO RADOS $ 2,475,085.08
3. BRUTOCO $ 2,579,092.00
The engineer's estimate on the project was $2,524,849.00. References have
been verified on the low bidder, Daley Corporation. Staff recommends the
award of this contract to Daley Corporation.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds in the amount of $2,991,140.39 were appropriated in the 1984-85 Capital
Improvement Budget Account No. 330-820-18-40-3098 and will be available as
follows :
1. Federal Aid Urban (FAU) $ 139,000.00
2. Highway Bridge Replacement and
Rehabilitation Fund (HBRR) $2,118,000.00
3. San Diego Gas 13 Electric
Developer Contribution $ 533,140.39
4. City of Carlsbad (Gas Tax Fund) $ 201,000.00
$2,991,140.39
PROPOSITION 'HI IMPACT:
This Capital -Project is exempt from consideration under Proposition 'H'
because The balance of the
funding is either federal grants or developer contributions.
the City's portion of the project is $201,000.00.

RESOLUTION NO. 8116
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACT NO. 3098
FOR CONSTRUCTION OF CARLSBAD BOULEVARD BRIDGE
AND STREET IMPROVEMENTS.
WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad
for the construction of the Carlsbad Boulevard Bridge and Street
Improvements, Contract No. 3098; and
WHEREAS, the low bid received for the construction of the
Carlsbad Boulevard Bridge and Street Improvements was submitted by
Daley Corporation, in the amount of $2,393,652.00; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. 330-820-18-40-
3098 for this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. The bid of $2,393,652.00 by Daley Corporation for Con-
tract No. 3098 for the construction of Carlsbad Boulevard Bridge
and Street Improvements is hereby accepted, and the Mayor and City
Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a contract thereafter.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
Carlsbad City Council held on the 23rd day of July , 1985
by the following vote, to wit:
AYES : Council F&nbers Casler, hs, Kulchin, chick and Pettine
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
