RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. a.;10 - accepting a donation of funds to purc
and install book shelving in the Genealogy Section of the Carlsba
Library from the Friends of the Library.
THE CARLSBAD CITY LIBRARY
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The Friends of the Library have made a gift in the amount of $9,: to the Carlsbad City Library to purchase and install book shelvi1
the Genealogy Section. This shelving, compatible in style, desic and color to the shelving in the library, will house the expandil genealogy collection. Through competitive bidding, arrangements been made with a local vendor to install the shelving units on tl: second floor of the library, which should be completed within thc ninety (90) days.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.

RESOLUTION NO. 8120
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A GIFT OF
BOOK SHELVING FOR THE CARLSBAD CITY LIBRARY.
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Library have donated
$9,357.64 for the purpose of purchasing and installing boc
shelving in the Genealogy Section of the Carlsbad City Lit
and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept this gift
pursuant to Section 37354 and 37355 of the California Gove
Code:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council accepts the donation of the
to purchase the book shelving on behalf of all citizens of
City of Carlsbad.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of
Carlsbad City Council held on the 30th day of JdY
