Adopt Resolution No. 21- approving plans and specifications, and
authorizina the Citv Clerk to advertise for bids for the traffic siqnals at
Carlsbad BGulevard and Grand Avenue, and El Camino Real and Chestnut Avenue.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
After bids are received, staff will return to Council for approval of any
additional funds
FISCAL IMPACT:
Project 3179 will be paid for by $22,500,00 in HES funds and $2,500.00 of City
monies (Gas Tax).
Project 3180 will be paid for by $22,500.00 in HES funds and $2,500.00 of City
monies (Gas Tax).

After bids are received, additional funds will be requested to cover the
estimated short fall. This will most likely be an item for the 1985-86 C.1.P
and can be considered during the C.I.P. review.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING LOCAL AGENCY - STATE AGREEEMENT NO. 11-5308 FOR CARLSBAD BOULE-
VARD/GRAND AVENUE SIGNAL MODIFICATION GRANT.
WHEREAS, funds are available through a Local Agency - State
Agreement No. 11-5308 in the amount of $22,500; and
WHEREAS, City funds in the amount of $2,500 may be made
ivailable in Fiscal Year 1984-85; and
WHEREAS, the City accepts the aforementioned responsibilities

STATE AGREEEMENT NO. 11-5308 FOR EL CAMINO REAL AND CHESTNUT AVENUE SIGNAL MODIFICATION GRANT.

RESOLUTION NO. 8130
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO INVITE BIDS FOR REFURBISHING
TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT CARLSBAD BOULEVARD AND GRAND AVENUE AND
3179 AND 3180.
AT EL CAMINO REAL AND CHESTNUT AVENUE - CONTRACT NOS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has determined it is
necessary and in the public interest to refurbish the traffic signals at
Carlsbad Boulevard and Grand Avenue and at El Cmino Real and Chestnut Avenue;
and
WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the aforementioned refurbishment
of Projects 3179 and 3180 have been approved and are on file in the Engineer-
ing Department of the City of Carlsbad and are incorporated by reference
herein; and
WHEREAS, funds have been appropriated in FY 84-85 in the amount of
$2,500.00 for each project; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. The plans and specifications as presented are hereby approved.
3. That the City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized
and directed to proceed to publish, in accordance with law, notice to
contractors inviting bids for the refurbishment of traffic signals at Carlsbad
Boulevard and Grand Avenue, and at El Camino Real and Chestnut Avenue in
accordance with the plans and specifications hereinabove referred to.
