HD.~ CITY Am!$& AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND SAN MARCOS UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT TITLE: ITEM EXPLANATION: IEPT. P&R FOR SERVICES PERFORMED AT FUERTE In cooperation with the planning and development of the La Costa Meadows Elementary School, the San Marcos Unified School District administered and contracted out certain work that was performed on the adjacent city owned property (Fuerte Park). C1TYMGR.a Because the overall development of the park/school project will benefit the city, staff recommends that the City reimburse the District for the following work and services performed on the park site: A. Grading $20,000 B. Fill Dirt 20 , 000 C. Elimination of the Corintia access 4,000 D. Fencing top of slopes and the Corintia 8,000 E. Architect & Engineering Services 3,000 TOTAL $55,000 (mounding and landscaping) Street frontage The City will administer the remaining park development which will cost approximately $95,000. A. Soil Amendments (turf section) H. Irrigation installation and turf planting C. Purchase and installation of (1) back stop D. Purchase and installation of bleachers and drinking E. Installation of stairway F. Installation of walkway, South section of school if (large field only) fountain necessary PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION: On July 15, 1985 the Parks and Recreation Commission unanimously approved the proposed agreement to pay the San Marcos Unified School District $55,000 for work and services performed by the District on the Fuerte Park property. SAN MARCOS UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT: On July 15, 1985 The San Marcos Unified School District unanimously approved the City's offer to pay $55,000 for work done on the City park site adjacent to the La Costa Meadows School parcel. . The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California does hereby resolve as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That certain agreement between the City of Carlsbad and the San Marcos Unified School District for work and services performed by the District, a copy of which is attached and on file in the City Clerk's office, is hereby approved. 3. That the Mayor of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to execute said agreement for and on behalf of the City of Carlsbad. 4. That the City Council will approve the payment of $55,000 from account number 333-820-1824-3139 to the San Marcos Unified School District. W I T N E S S E T H: WHEREAS, the City and District wish to provide recreational and educational facilities for the residents of Carlsbad; and WHEREAS, the District has performed certain services .to develop a portion of Fuerte Park for the City; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to reimburse the District for the services they have performed. 1. The Governing Board unanimously approved your offer to pay $55,000.00 for work done on the City of Carlsbad park site adjacent to the La Costa Meadows School site. I have also attached an official excerpt of the board minutes for your file. It would appear that our joint meeting scheduled for July 25, 1985 will no longer be necessary. Please let me know when your City Council has approved the transaction so I can appropriately advise our architect and contractor. As per our discussion, the City agrees to pay for the following work and services: A. Grading $20,000 B. Fill Dirt 20,000 C. Mounding and Landscaping Corintia Access 4,000 D. Fencing (top of slopes and Corintia Street frontage) 8,000 E. Architect & Engineering Services 3,000 TOTAL $55,000 In addition, the City agrees to administer and contract separately the remaining portion of the park development. A.
