AVENUE RIGHT TURN LANE TO EL
CAMINO REAL (PROJECT NO. 3189)
TITLE:
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 8/q.3 accepting bids and awarding Contract
No. 3189 for the construction of the La Costa Avenue right
turn lane to Scibilia & Sons Construction Co., Inc.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On July 2, 1985, Council authorized the advertisement for bids
for said project. Three (3) sealed bids were received on
August 17, 1985, as follows:
1. Scibilia & Sons
2. Lindo Engineering
3. C. J. Lumsdaine
$ 14,590.00
$ 18,563.15
$ 19,639.00
The Engineer's Estimate on this project was $30,000.00.
References have been verified on the low bidder, Scibilia &
Sons Construction Co., Inc. Staff recommends the award of
this contract to Scibilia & Sons Construction Co., Inc.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Budgeted funds in the amount of $30,000.00 are available in
Account No. 330-820-1840-3189 for this project.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACT NO. 3189
FOR GONSTRUCTION OF LA COSTA AVENUE RIGHT TURN
LANE TO EL CAMINO REAL. --
WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad
for construction of La Costa Avenue Right Turn Lane, Contract
No. 3189; and
WHEREAS, the low bid received for the said project was
submitted by Scibilia & Sons Construction Co., Inc., in the
amount of $14,590.00; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. 330-820-
1840-3189 for this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. The bid of $14,590.00 by Scibilia & Sons Construc-
tion Co., Inc. for Contract No. 3189 for the construction of La
Costa Avenue right Turn Lane is hereby accepted, and the Mayor
and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a contract
thereafter.
