RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No, 8/43- approving plans and specifications, author-
izing the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the construction of Faraday
Avenue from El Camino Real to City Safety Center.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The plans and specifications for the construction of Faraday Avenue have been
completed. This project involves the construction of a secondary arterial
with two traffic lanes in each direction rhich will extend from El Camino Real
to the City Safety Center. The Engineering Department has reviewed the plans
and specifications, The construction of this road by the City is part of the
agreement between Beckman Instruments and the City.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The

Fees, in Account No. 332-820-18-40-3142.
Engineer's estimate for this project is $350,000.00. Funds in the amount
were appropriated for this project from the Public Facilities $522,000.00

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE cm OF CARLSBAO,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY CLERK TO INVITE BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF FAHADAY
AVENUE - CONTRACT NO. 3142.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has determined it is
necessary and in the public interest to construct Faraday Avenue; and
WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the furnishing of all labor,
material, tools, equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary or
incidental for said project, Contract No. 3142, have been prepared and are on
file in the Engineering Department of the City of Carlsbad and are
incorporated by reference herein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. The plans and specifications as presented are hereby approved.
3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and
directed to proceed to publish, in accordance with law, Notice to Contractors
inviting bids for the construction of Faraday Avenue in accordance with the
plans and specifications hereinabove referred to.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City
Council held on the 20*day of , 1985 by the following vote, to
wit:
