RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Authorize Thelma Hayes of the Housing and Redevelopment Advisory
Committee to attend a two day Pedestrian Conference.
ITEM EXPLANATION
The sixth annual Pedestrian Conference will be held in Boulder,
Colorado on September 19 and 20, 1985. It will focus on planning
and development, design concepts and innovation both in the U.S.
and abroad, public policy and safety relating to the pedestrian.
Since this was not itemized in the budget request, Council approval is required.
The Housing and Redevelopment Advisory Committee, at their meeting
of July 29, 1985, recommended sending a representative to this
conference.
FISCAL IMPACT
Cost of the conference including airfare, registration and lodging
will be $470. Funds are available in the Redevelopment and Block
Grant budgets.
