RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. fA,fy rejecting all bids for grading of Stagecoach Community Park and authorizinq the Purchasing Officer and City Clerk to
re-advertise and rebid the grading of the parks project.
ITEM EXPLANATION
On August 27, 1985, Council approved the plans and specifications and authori,
the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the grading of Stagecoach Community
Park. Two responses were received, opened, witnessed and recorded on Septembc
17, 1985.
When the bids were reviewed by the Consultant and staff, some discrepancies WI
noted in the bid documents making it difficult to recommend an award of the
contract. However, in order to rebid the project, it would be necessary to
obtain a 30 day extension from the State Department of Fish and Game for the
grading of the riparian area of the park. The Director of Parks and Recreatil
has been able to obtain the 30 day extension. Therefore, due to the ambiguit
in the bid documents, the Consultant and staff recommend rejection of the bid
and authorization to re-advertise and request new bids as per revised
specifications to be issued. The rebid process will make it possible for the
grading in the riparian area to be completed by the end of November.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds for the qradina are available in the Stagecoach Community Park, Account
320-820-1824-3191.
