RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. J//...J, awarding a bid for a logging recorder to
Dictaphone Corporation.
ITEM EXPlANATION
The Safety and Serv lee Center budget includes funds for a logging recorder to be
used in the canmunicatlons and dispatch center. The present recorder in the
Police Station is nine years old and needs to be repaired and serviced
frequently. Because of the condition of the present equipment, the City's
canmunication consultant has recommended we purchase a replacement at this time,
with the understanding it will be moved to the Service and Safety Center at the
appropriate time.
In accordance with Section 3.28.120 of the Municipal Code, Notice to Bidders was
published and Request ,for Bids was mailed to seven vendors. Four responses were
received, opened, witnessed and recorded September 4, 1985. The lowest
responsive bid was submltted by Dictaphone Corporation in the cJ11ount of
$21,152.69.
FISCAL It-PACT
The City's communication consultant estimated the cost of the logging recorder
equipment to be $30,000. Funds are available in the Service and Safety Center's
,account number 320-820-18-10-3006 to cover the cost of the logging recorder
equipment.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY CO~CIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A BID AND AUTHOOIZHC THE EXECUTION OF
A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THE PURCHASE OF LOGGING RECORDER EQUIPt£NT
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as
follows:
1. That the bid of Dictaphone Corporation, 120 Old Post Road, Rye, New
York 105~0, is hereby accpeted and the City Manager is hereby authorized to
execute a purchase order for the purchase of logging equipment in the anount of
$21 , 152 • 69 .
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, at a regular meeting held on the 24th day of ~ptember -:--'
