ITEM EXPLANATION
At their meeting last week (September 17), Council approved the
1985 - 86 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The Engineering
Department has anticipated the need to get all projects under
design quickly, and completed requests for proposals and the
selection of consultant engineers for design even before the
actual adoption of the CIP.

Additionally, consultant selection is underway on the remaining
projects requiring design, and staff will return for Council
approval of agreements at the next City Council meeting. Upon
approval of the above agreements, all 1985 - 86 CIP projects
will be under contract and underway.
FISCAL IMPACT
All of the above projects have been approved in the 1985 - 86
Capital Improvement Program and sufficient funds have been
appropriated. Individual project accounts have been or will be
set up for each project and consultant fees will be charged to
the project account.

RESOLUTION NO. 8193
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AGREEEMENTS
BETWEEN THE CITY OF CARLSBAD AND MOHLE-GROVER,
WILLDAN ASOCIATES, AND NESTE, BRUDIN & STONE FOR
ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR VARIOUS 1985 - 86
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM PROJECTS.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, does
hereby resolve as follows:
1. That an agreement between the City of Carlsbad and
Willdan Associates for engineering services for various projects,
a copy of which is on file in the City Clerk's office and
incorporated herein by reference is hereby approved.
2. That the third Supplemental Agreement to the Agreement
for Assessment Engineering Services between the City of C-arlsbad
and Neste, Brudin & Stone, a copy of which is on file in the
Office of the City Clerk, and incorporated herein by reference,
is hereby approved.
3. The Mayor of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized
and directed to execute said agreements for and on behalf of the
City of Carlsbad.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
Carlsbad City Council held on the 24th day of September , 1985
by the following vote, to wit:
