ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. Lop approving plans and specifi-
cations, authorizing the City Clerk to advertise for bids for
the construction of the Library Parking Lot, and appropriating
the additional funds for this project.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The plans and specifications for the construction of the
Library Parking Lot have been completed. This project
involves construction of a new parking lot to the east of the
existing library parking lot and modification of the existing
parking lot to increase the n.imber of parking spaces from 55
to 97.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Engineer's estimate for the construction of this project
is $82,000.00. Funds in the amount of $90p000.00 are avail-
able in Account No. 300-820-18-10-3172 which will cover the
total project costs including design, contract administration
and inspection.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK
TO INVITE BIDS FOR LIBRARY PARKING LOT -
CONTRACT NO. 3172
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has
determined it is necessary and in the public interest to
construct additional parking; and
WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the furnishing of all
labor, material, tools, equipment, transportation, and other
expenses necessary or incidental for said project, Contract No.
3172, have been prepared and are on file in the Engineering
Department of the City" o'f "Carlsbad and are incorporated by
reference herein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. The plans and specifications as presented are hereby
approved.
3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby
authorized and directed to proceed to publish, in accordance
with la*1 Notice to Contractors inviting bids for the construc-
tion of the Library Parking Lot in accordance with the plans and
specifications hereinabove referred to.
