APPOINTMENT TO CARSBAD
BUILDING AUTHORITY
Adopt Resolution No. /J.b, recommending to the County Board of Supervisors
the appointment of a member to the Carlsbad Building Authority.
ITEM EXPLANATION
The Carlsbad Building Authority was established as a separate legal public
entity to construct, maintain and operate the public buildings and facilities
included in the Carlsbad Civic Center. The Building Authority meets on an as
needed basis to review the on-going financial arrangments of the Civic Center
construction and operation, pay bills and fulfill the requirements of the 3oint
Powers Agreement under which the Civic Center was built.
consists of three members who are appointed by the City Council subject to
approval of the County Board of Supervisors.
The Authority
The term of C. R. Helton on the Carlsbad Building Authority expires in October, 1985. Mr. Helton was one of the original members appointed to the Building
Authority in 1967, and has served as a member of the Authority since that time. He has expressed an interest, however, not to be reappointed for an additional term.
The other members currently serving on the Building Authority are Robert (Andy)
Borden and Arthur A. Brown.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARSBAD, CALIFORNIA, REOMENDING TO THE BOAR)
OF SUPERVISORS, SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA,
THE APPOINTMENT OF ONE EMBER TO THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD BUILDING AUTHORITY.
WHEREAS, the term of C. R. Helton on the Carlsbad Building Athority expires
in October, 1985;
NOW, THEREFORE, RE IT ESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows :
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the following person is recommended to the Board of Supervisors,
San Dieqo County, California, to serve as a member of the Carlsbad Building
Authority:
Charles F. F&we , for a term to expire in October, 1989.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, at a regular meeting held on the 15th day of 7 October ?
1985, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Msbers Caslier, Lewis, Kukhin, Chick and Pettine
