Re: Carlsbad Safety Center - KCC Job #3225
Award of Contract, Bid Package #5
Dear Mike:
Approval to solicit bids for the referenced work was given by the City Council
on April 2, 1985. Work includes the service center building, vehicle wash and
site concrete; unit masonry; and metal and acoustical ceilings. Numerous firms
specializing in these activities were contacted by your Construction Manager
with a pre-bid conference being held on October 10, 1985 and bids received on
October 16, 1985.
We have analyzed the low bids and finding no major irregularities recommended
that an award for the following bid package items be made to:
Description Contractor Amount
5A Concrete L.R. Hubbard $ 253,821
5B Masonry Dittman Masonry 372,421
5D Ceilings Maloney Specialties 86,250
$ 712,492
We feel these awards represent a fair and reasonable price for the work intended.
iteait SB; amount reflect contracting the vehicle maintenance building and wash"
li«u of concrete tilt up. -— '
We understand that an agenda bill will be prepared for City Council approval of
these awards on October 22, 1985. Please let know if additional information is
required or if there are any problems with this recommendation.
Yours sincerely,
