RAUT ENKRANZ, City Clerk (SEAL) 8236 ttachment A ..esolution No. EQUIPMENT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR DEFINITION Under general direction, to supervise, inspect, and participate in servicing, mechanical adjustment, and repair work to gasoline, diesel, and other per- driven equipment; and to do related work as assigned. - EXAMPLES OF DUTIES Coordinate equipment maintenance activities with other City departments and divisions, and with outside agencies. Participate in budget preparation and administration and assist in preparing specifications for purchasing large equipment. Supervise the servicing and maintenance of City equipment such as gasoline and diesel autormbiles, trucks, tractors, and construction and maintenance equipment. Assign work to subordinate personnel. Determine priority of work to be done and determine repair msts. Assist and supervise personnel in the work of servicinq, repairing, constructing, assembling, and installing parts, equipment, and machinery while personally participating in the most mnplex and difficult repair mrk. Maintain a variety of vehicles servicing records. Requisition and purchase materials and supplies. Supervise, train and evaluate assigned staff. QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of: Principles, methods, and practices pertaining to the aperation of an equipment maintenance and repair facility. Tools, lubricants, equipment and procedures used in servicing, overhauling, repairing and adjusting a variety of automotive and other per-driven equipment. Principles and methods used in a program of preventive maintenance. Safe work practices. Operating and repair characteristics of a variety of gas and diesel-powered light and heavy equipment. Record-keeping and reporting procedures. 3 Ability to: Comnicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. Plan, direct, and coordinate the mechanical repair and mintenance of City vehicles . Estimate labor and material costs and requiremnts for mjor mechanical maintenance and repair. Keep accurate records and required reports. Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Supervise and train subordinates. Emrience and Education Any conhination equivalent to experience and educaAon that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be: Emrience Four years of experience as a journey equipment mechanic including experience in the repair of construction equipment.
