Adopt Resolution No. PA L// accepting bids and awarding the
contract for Project Nos. 3179 and 3180 for the reconstruction of
the traffic signals at the intersections of Carlsbad Boulevard/
Grand Avenue and El Camino Real/Chestnut Avenue to Steiny and
Co., Inc.
ITEM EXPLANATION
On August 8, 1985, Council authorized the advertisement for bids
for said projects. Four (4) sealed bids were received on
September 26, 1985, as follows:
1. Steiny and Co., Inc. $ 107,937.00
2. McCain Construction Co., Inc. $ 110,545.00
3. D & H Perry, Inc. $ 127,001.00
4. Select Electric Inc. $ 129,041.00
The Engineer's Estimate on this project was $114,000.00.
References have been verified on the low bidder, Steiny and Co.,
Inc. Staff recommends the award of this contract to Steiny and
Co. Inc. I FISCAL IMPACT
Budgeted funds in the amount of $110,212.00 are available in
Account No. 110-820-18-40-3179 for these projects. $45,000.00
of this project will be funded through Federal Hazard Elimination System program and the remaining $62,937.00 will be funded by the
City.

RESOLUTION NO. 8241
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSEAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF THE CONTRACT FOR
PROJECT NOS.3179 AND 3180 FOR RECONSTRUCTION
OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT CARLSEAD BOULEVARD/
GRAND AVENUE AND EL CAMINO REAL/CHESTNUT AVENUE.
WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of
Carlsbad for the reconstruction of traffic signals, Project
Nos. 3179 and 3180; and
WHEREAS, the low bid received for the said traffic
signals was submitted by Steiny and Co., Inc., in the amount of
$107,937.00; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the amount of
$114,000.00, Account No. 110-820-18-40-3179 for this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. The bid of $107,937.00 by Steiny and Co., Inc. for
Project Nos. 3179 and 3180 for the reconstruction of traffic
signals at Carlsbad Boulevard/Grand Avneue and El Carnino
Real/Chestnut Avenue is hereby accepted, and the Mayor and City
Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a contract thereafter.
