RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. f~ E;t.{ appropriating funds for the reorganization
of the Plnnning Department.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On October 15, 1985, the City Council approved the addition of th:-ee
positions to the Planning Department staff and the reorganization of
the Planning Department. The agenda bill and resolution adopted by
Council stated that the additional cost associated with this action would
be $7 4, 375; however, the resolution us adopted did not authorize the
appropriation of funds.
'rhis action appropriates $74,375 from the City Council's Contingency
Fund for the purpose of funding the Planning Department reorganization.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This action which is required due to prior approval of the Planning
Department reorganization appropriiltes $74,375 from the Contingency
Fund to the Planning Department budget. The Contingency account
balance will be reduced to $214,927.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA APPROPRIATING FUNDS
FOR THE REORGANIZATION OF 11HE PLANNING
DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 8225 on
October 15, 1985, authorizing the addition of three positions to the
Planning Department, and
WHEREAS, this resolution did not include authorization of funding
for these· positions, and
WHEREAS, the City Council intended to provide funding for these
positions through a transfer of funds from the Contingency account,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad, California that the amount of $74,375 is hereby
transferred to the Planning Department budget to fund the addition. of
three positions.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regula1• meeting of the
City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, held on the 5th day
of November , 1985, by the following vote, to wit:
A YES: Council Members Casler, Lewis, Kulchin, Chick and Pet tine
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
