RECOMMENDED ACTION:
City Council adopt Resolution No. f'.:l. ti,_L awarding bid for fire trucks to
Grumman Emergency Products, Inc. in the amount of $299,231.64.
ITEM·EXPLANATION
The 1985-86 Capital Improvement Program includes $300,000 for the purchase of
two pumpers for the Fire Department. One pumper will be assigned to Fire
Station #4 and the other will be a replacement for F-014, that wiil become a reserve unit.
In accordance with Section 3.28.120 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code, Notice to
Bidclers was published and Request for Bids was made to eight vendors. Five
responsive bids were received, opened, witnessed and recorded on October 30,
1985. All bids were reviewed and analyzed by the staff of ·the Fire and
Purchasing Departments. Grumman Emergency Products, Inc., 1865 Rainbow Terrace
Lane, Montebello, CA 90640 was the lowest responsive bidder in the a~ount of
$282,294, plus tax, for a total of $299,231.64.
FISCAL IMPACT
The total cost for the two pumpers is $299,231.64, which is within the budgeted amount for the units.

OF CAR..SBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A AIO N~D
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A PURCHASE ORDER
FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO FIi£ TRUCKS.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, as follows:
1. That the bid of Grumman Emergency Products, Inc., 1865 Rainbow Terrace
Lane, Montebello, CA 90640, is hereby accepted and the City Manager is hereby
authorized to execute a Purchase Order for the purchase of two fire trucks in
the amount of $282,294, plus tax, for a total of $299,231.64.
