RECOMMENDED ACTION:
By motion, adopt Resolution No. 2 o accepting bids and awarding
a contract for the construction of the Library Parking lot,
Project No. 3172 South Coast Asphalt Product Co., P. 0. Box 218
Carlsbad, California 92008 and appropriating additional funds.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On October 1, 1985, Council authorized the advertisement for
bids for said project. Eleven sealed bids were received on
November 27, 1985, as follows:

References have been verified for the low bidder, South Coast
Asphalt Product Co. Staff recommends the award of this contract
to South Coast Asphalt Product Co.
FISCAL IMPACT
Budgeted funds in the amount of $86,105.00 are available as
follows: General Capital Construction,Fund, 300-820-1810-3172,
$46,105.00 and Revenue Sharing, 140-820-1810-3i72, $40,000.00.
Additional funds in the amount of $14,000.00 are required to
cover the administration and inspection costs.

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD: CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING
THE EXECUTION OF THE CONTRACT AND THE TRANSFER
OF FUNDS FOR PROJECT NO. 3172 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF
THE LIBRARY PARKING L•OT
WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of
Carlsbad for the construction of Library Parking Lot, Project No.
3172; and
WHEREAS, the low bid received for the Library Parking
Lot was submitted by South Coast Asphalt Pro -duct Co., in the
amount of $88,933.00; and
WHEREAS, funds in the amount of $86,105.00 are
available in Account No. 300-820-1810-3172 for this project; and
WHEREAS, additional funds in the amount of $14,000.00
are required for the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. The bid of $88,933.00 by South Coast Asphalt Product
Co. for Project No. 3172 for construction of the Library Parking
i
Lot is hereby accepted, and the Mayor and City Clerk are he#bby
authorized to execute a contract therefor.
3. That the transfer of $14,000.00 from the unappropriated fund
balance in the General Capital Construction Fund Account No.
300-941 to the Library Parking Lot Account No. 300-820-1810-3172
is hereby authorized and approved.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the

Carlsbad City Council held on the 17th day of December , 1985
by the following vote, to wit:
