RECOMMENDED ACTION:
PURCHASE OF TRUCKS
Staff recommends Council adopt Resolution No. f3t,3...:_., awarding bids for
various trucks,
ITEM·EXPl:.ANATION
The 1985-86 Bud~et includes funds for the purchase of three trucks; one for
Engineering and two for the Parks Department.
In accordance with Section 3,28.120 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code, Notice to
Bidders was published and Requests for Bids was made to 17 vendors.
The lowest bid on Items /!1 and 112 was DeAnza Chevrolet, 8200 Auto Drive,
Riverside, CA 92504 in the amount of $23,'+87. 79, plus tax for a total of
$24,897.06. Palomar Truck Corporation, 520 Gannon Place, Escondido, CA 92025
~as the low bidder for Item #3 in the amount of $9,935.00, plus tax for a total
of $10,531.10.
FISC::Al:.·IMPACT
The Vehicle Maintenance Replacement Department has budgeted $24, 776 for two
vehicles and the low bidders for these vehicles were in the amou~t 0f
$22,686.27. The Engineering Department has budgeted $14,000 for their vehicle
and the low bid for their truck was $12,741.61.

RESOLUTION NO. 8303
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY :OUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAfl.SBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZI~ THE EXECUTION
OF-PURCHASE ORDERS FOR·THE PURCHASE OF THREE TRUeKS.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as
follows:
1. That the bid of DeANza Chevrolet, 8200 Auto Drive, Riverside, CA 92504
for Item$ #1 and #2, as shown in Exhibit A, is hereby accepted and the City
Manager is hereby authorized to execute a Purchase Order in the amount of
$23,487.79, plus tax, for a total of $24,897.06; and
2. That the bid of Palomar truck Corporation, 520 Gannon Place Escondido,
CA 92025, for Item 3, as shown in Exhibit A is hereby accepted and the City
Manager is hereby authorized to execute a Purchase Order in the amount of
$9,935, plus tax, for a total of $10,531.10.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
C,alifornia, at a regular meeting held on the _2~ day of December
1985, by the following vote, to wit:
