RECOMMENDED ACTION:
DEPTm HD*B TITLE: AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR KELLY DRIVE AND EL CAMINO CITY ATTY
By motion, adopt Resolution No.&S& accepting bids and
awarding Project No. 3187 for the construction of Kelly Drive
and El Camino Real Traffic Signal to McCain Construction Co.,
Inc.
ITEM EXPLANATION
On November 26, 1985, Council authorized the advertisement for
bids for said project. Five (5) sealed bids were received on
December 23, 1985, as follows:
1. McCain Construction Co., Inc. $ 55,312
2. Steiny and Company, Inc. $ 59,000
3. MCR Electrical Contractors, Inc. $ 63,505
4. D&H Perry, Inc. $ 66,485
5. Select Electrical $ 67,010
The Engineer's Estimate on this project was $55,000.
References have been verified on the low bidder, McCain
Construction Co., Inc.. Staff recommends the award of this
contract to McCain Construction Co., Inc.
FISCAL IMPACT
Budgeted funds in the amount of $90,000 are available in
Account No. 320-820-18-40-3187 for this project.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF PROJECT NO. 3187
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF KELLY DRIVE AND EL CAMINO .REAL TRAFFIC SIGNAL. _----I----
WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad
for the construction of Kelly Drive and El Camino Real Traffic
Signal, Project No. 3187; and
WHEREAS, the low bid received for the constructiori of
Kelly Drive and El Camino Real Traffic Signal was submitted by
McCain Construction Co., Inc., in the amount of $55,312; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the amounk of $90,QQQ in,
Account No. 320-820-18-40-3187 for this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, HE lT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. The bid of $55,312 by McCain Construction Co., 1nc.for
Project No. 3187 for the construction of Kelly Drive and El
Camino Real Traffic
and City Clerk are
