ITEM EXPLANATION:
On December 10, 1985, Council authorized the advertisement for
bids for said project. Three (3) sealed bids were received
on December 30, 1985, as follows:
1. Silver Strand Contractors, San Diego $ 52,711.00 2. Dyno Construction, Inc. San Diego $ 69,604.65
3. Sapper Construction, Co. San Diego $ 79,689.45
The engineer's estimate on this project was $55,000.00. Refer-
ences have been verified on the low bidder, Silver Strand
Contractor. Staff recommends the award of this contract to the
lowest responsible bidder.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Budgeted funds in the amount of $55,000.00 are available in
Account No. 001-820-5110-2470 for this project.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RIZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACT NO, U/M 5 FOR
MENT PROGRAM.
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA. ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHO-
THE 1985-86 CURB, GUTTER, AND SIDEWALK REPLACE-

WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad
for the 1985 Curb, Gutter, and Sidewalk Replacement Program;
and
WHEREAS, the low bid received for the project was submitted
by Silver Strand Contractors in the amount of $52,711.00; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in account number
001-820-5110-2470 for this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, RE IT RESQLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. The bid of $52.711.00 by Silver Strand Contractors for the
1985 Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk Program is hereby accepted, and
the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute
a contract thereafter.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the
day of City of Carlsbad at a regular meeting held the 21St
January , 1986, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Casler, Lewis, Kulchin, Chick and Pettine
